Volunteer University: Building Positive Relationships with Youth

Our second session of Volunteer University (VU) is scheduled for February 12th, at Heirloom Rustic Ales, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The program will be ‘Using your Multi-Tool: Strategies for Building Positive Relationships with Youth’ presented by Fausto Lopez, Senior Technical Assistance Consultant with the American Institutes for Research. About this session: Just like you wouldn't go for a ride without your multi-tool, establishing positive relationships with youth is an essential function of a high-quality after-school program. Learn how you can add tools to your kit in this engaging and interactive session.

Volunteer University is being developed in response to requests for more programming aimed at building better skills for volunteers working with youth. Through occasional informational sessions, VU will be geared at helping new and veteran Bike Club volunteers develop and hone skills to make encounters with students successful and productive.
